MOSCOW, Aug 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s arms producer Kalashnikov is developing a super electric vehicle (EV) which will be able to compete with the global industry’s leaders, including Tesla, a representative of the company told PRIME on Thursday.

“We are developing our own EV concept which is based on several self-developed original systems. The technology will position us alongside the world’s leading EV producers, including Tesla, and help us compete with them,” the person said.

As seen by PRIME on the company’s website, the CV-1 electric car will be built on the basis of the IZh-21252 Combi retro car’s body and will have a nominal capacity of 220 kilowatt and a 350 kilometer range.
